The Body’s Voice

May 29, 2026

My daughter graduated yesterday, I am still seeing images of her as a baby, and a little girl. So curious and playful. What a joy it has been to watch her grow. What a woman. I am proud. She had such incredible teachers who emphasized exploring and learning in the fields of life. They encouraged her to continue to be curious and believe in herself and look to the issues and challenges as opportunities to reinvent who she is as she grows into the values and expression of integrity that define her. As we wish her off to her new bigger world. I trust she will be evolving as she is receptive and clear, expanding to share and influence her societies and her environments.

It takes all of you to be present. To get out of your own way, to stop trying to do so much, to enter into a state of… being. In this state, you can see, observe from a place of non-duality. It is essential to witness and observe to be a healer. To notice every detail as it presents itself. To rest into a state that is open and curious, allowing and receptive. To come from your center as you call upon your highest self to embody, in order to serve. Service to freedom and life, devoted to learning by reading and interpreting the authentic language of the body. This body is where I learn from.

My client has been having a hard time and she was walking in more pain. She moved more boxes, she was doing better and then she moved the shelving. She is trying to reorganize her life by organizing her closets and pantries. She is doing well until she takes that 2 and a half hour drive, both ways. And the pain comes back, and the limp gets worse. And I am trying to help her, I’m suggesting that she rest. She keeps telling me she’s so glad she’s found me, and I bring her relief. Then she comes back again, hurting more. I am getting to deeper layers of the fascia, and it seems to be getting reorganized and she seems to improve, and I am looking for the missing piece. I keep questioning if I am going too hard, and so I back off, I keep backing off. I sense I am going too hard, deeper than what she needs and then she comes in very sensitive. She’s back to her cane and not walking well and sometimes just upset. I’ve suggested she rest and stop trying to do all the things she had planned. There is a frustration that has built up and she lets it loose. This is the healing crisis. I go light. I go lighter than ever before. And she needs it light. She has found her boundary and it is the gentle touch she needs. She speaks out to ask for lightness, and lighter still till I am barely touching her. And her body responds to the light touch and she is walking with so much more ease, her limp is disappearing and she is back on her feet again. She has found her body’s voice, and it needs very light touch, and she is listening. And I am listening.

Sometimes our minds think we need it deeper, harder, that if we endure the pain, we will be rewarded with gain. This has not been true as far as deep pressure in my healing journey, nor the clients I have treated. We learn to interpret the language of your body- these sensations, as they arise to be heard, seen, felt and acknowledged. So you can learn to listen to and communicate with, to relax your body. When we are able to use the mind and not be guided by it, we find mental discipline. An unruly mind can be a landscape of distractions and addictions. Unkept, unprocessed emotions can also lead to a great deal of anguish. Because our body holds mental and emotional information as vibration and frequency until we heal these neurological pathways and allow the pain to unwind. We feel and heal. These sensations the body uses to get your attention, to bring you to healing. If you are feeling pain and restriction in your body it can be released.

I can teach you how to be present in the areas of your body that need attention. You can learn how to interpret and communicate with the areas in your body that are in shortened chronic tension patterns. I work with the muscular fascial system of your body, I do this by centering myself deeply in my own body. Through healing, meditation, hypnosis, physical fitness, dance, song, group singing, massage and bodywork studies. These practices I have devoted my life to living, learning, growing and evolving playfully in my working practicing self care and client care through my adult life.

These areas of your body may be misplaced, in an unbalanced torsion, winding up and twisting, stuck and moving away from center. We can help them to find their ideal location, so they are properly functioning and can have full range of motion. This reduces inflammation, over exertion and creates space in the areas that were once restricted. When something is tight it is over efforting. When something is overstretched it has less elasticity. This has a lot to do with the fascial integrity of these areas and their surroundings.

Fascia is wrapped around every cell of your body, it is the interstitial fluid within and surrounding the cell. The body defines each part of each system organizing itself into sections with membranes surrounding structures. These structures are permeable and the interstitium- the fascial fluids move between the layers of structure. Myofascial Release is a therapy of specialized bodywork that gently and effectively stretches and releases muscular fascial restrictions with deep listening, patience and heat generated by the pressure. The structures in the body become hydrated as I move gently into the restriction to release the tissue. Because I do not move past the boundary of the restriction, the tissue gently and slowly releases. With Myofascial Release the pressure creates a piezoelectric response that alters the crystalline structure of the fascial matrix. The matrix of the fascial connective tissues stretch and lengthen which helps them become receptive to hydration, increase in elasticity, and return to homeostasis.

I practice Myofascial Release because I get incredible results. I work with clients who have mobility issues, are recovering from surgery, or are trying to avoid surgery. For those who want to have more balance, coordination, and to get out of chronic pain patterns and inflammatory responses. MFR treats the symptoms at their source. I help you get out of pain and back to your healthy active lifestyle. Releasing your fascial restrictions will help you feel more free and able to live your life. With MFR, I can help you get out of chronic pain patterns so you can get your life back.
