What Is Myofascial Release and How Can It Help You?
Jun 02, 2026
Do you have pain or discomfort? Have you had an injury, surgery or trauma that has shifted the way that you walk or stand? Are you able to sit comfortably for long periods? Does your computer work round your shoulders forward and leave you hurting? Do you have mystery pain: unexplained pain that travels and moves around to different areas of your body? If you are in pain, if you have inflammation, tingling, numbness, bumps, lumps, if your tissue is hard, hot, or tender to the touch… these are all signs of fascial restrictions.
Hi, my name is Angela Rose and I can help you relieve chronic pain patterns, to get back to an active healthy life and doing what you enjoy most.
Fascia is the mother of all systems in the body. Each cell is born from and held in fascia. The health and hydration of your connective tissue is the key to restoring health and vitality in your whole body. Fascia is a pervasive tissue that surrounds and connects all body structures. It can become rigid due to various factors, leading to chronic pain and limited movement.
When you are able and pain free, when you have your full range of motion you’re able to live your best life.
Myofascial Release developed by John Barnes, uses gentle techniques to release fascial restrictions. MFR is highly safe and effective, with a track record of helping patients recover from challenging conditions and often avoiding surgery. MFR aims to realign, open and untangle restrictions in your fascial web through gentle sustained compression or elongation for restoration of motion and elimination of pain. It also allows the therapist to approach each patient differently, intuitively treating the person, not the condition, with a hands-on customized treatment.
Since John Barnes created this Myofascial Release Approach in the 1970s, he has trained over 100,000 therapists and physicians. In that time, no one has ever been injured while using the technique, and many have undergone complete recoveries from seemingly untreatable conditions and avoided surgeries.
